Usually its a wiring / ground issue, is it the stock radio?

The whine noise you are hearing is coming from the alternator. That can be caused by missing or loose grounds at the alternator or battery, or between the engine and chassis (see diagram). It can also be caused by defective rectifier diodes in the alternator. Do you have any problem with low battery voltage or low indications on the instrument panel voltage gauge?

My radio is working cd player also but whines the whines. Sometimes after about 10 minutes it will quit whining and be fine. This is driving me insane. Bought a new radio and does the same thing. Put original back in. All my gauges seem to be working fine.

Does the frequency/pitch of the sound increase when the engine revs up? If so, read my post above for the cause (alternator).

this guys right on the money. few times ive had whines were usualy solved by loose or improper grounds, and or picking up buzz of alternator.

Whine does not increase . Stays the same. What do I need to look for as far as loose wire. There are so many I have no idea. Thanks
