Shifting into third
I was just wondering if this is a common thing for the t56 or just mine, but does anyone else have trouble shifting into third while racing? It seems like it gets stuck in between first and third and then I miss the gear. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

do you have a stock shifter? if so, upgrading to an aftermarket shifter will help a lot. Ive got a b&m and i think ive only missed 3rd like 2 times. Also, MGW is a well recommended shifter aswell.

Previous owner said he replaced the stock with a pro 5.0 shifter. It gets into third just fine with normal driving. Just when I'm slamming gears that it decides to misbehave.

Its the master cylinder line, theres a choke you can drill out to help a little bit, but even after that you'll notice after 3 or 4 high rpm shifts your pedal will not feel right or will not come up off the floor when you pick your foot up. the fix is a tick master cylinder I've been told but if you power through it and force the shift you'll likely bend the fork like mine is..

I'm leaning towards a bent fork inside the transmission. A shifter could help, continually banging it there will not lol
^what redta is saying sounds more like your clutch not disengaging. Mine did that when the slave cylinder/throw out bearing went out. Essentially when that happens its like if you are shifting while nit pushing the clutch all the way.
When you try to go into third does it get stuck at that spot, or does it go in and just scratch?

Mine under load while racing would hit in between 1st & 3rd, like hitting a wall, driving normally no problem. Fitted a MGW and haven't looked back, best spent dollars yet.

Same issue here. Had trans rebuilt with new clutch and it's no better. Been waiting on a bo Mgw shifter and we'll see if it improves. I sure hope so or I'm driving from Phx to Tx to have the trans builder fix it.
