Tranny Slipping???
Please bear with me as I'm by far an expert with an auto tranny. Here's a quick run down. I have a turbo camaro that we swapped in a 4l80e with yank 3400 converter. Everything is controlled by a Holley Dominator setup. Everything is brand new. After initial startup we were tuning and it seems like the tranny is slipping. While cruising at low rpm it will jump from 1200 to 1800rpm and feel like a slip. If you punch it then it goes away. It only seems to do this in this RPM range.
While installing the Holley setup there is a lockup wire for the tranny. It says to hook to a brake light source. This has not been hooked up since we were not sure of the correct wire.
Is the tranny slipping? Is this normal with an aftermarket converter? Does the lockup wire need hooked up? If so where to?

What does this Holley setup give you for trans
control. esp. the pressure control servo vs torque?
And can you log input & output shaft speeds to
say whether the slip is the TCC or the internal
frictions?

A couple of good suggestions above. Definitely check the input vs. output speed sensors for slip.
I would suggest you put a pressure gauge on the trans to verify the Holley ECU is commanding some pressure.
We have had 2 customers have pressure issues when using that ECU. One customer decided to ditch the Holley controlling the trans altogether due to the issues and went with a standalone controller.
