Can I use this cam with my setup?
Hi guys,
I have an LS2 block with LS3 heads, basically I'll be transferring my comp cams duel valve springs and push rods from my old all LS2 engine. I presume these components will work with the LS3 heads?
But my main question is could I use this cam http://www.compcams.com/Company/CC/c...csid=1093&sb=0
With my new setup being ls3 heads, will this cam work?
Thanks for any help,

At the moment it's a stock ls2 block with stock ls3 heads. I'll have to fit the valve springs and push rods from my old ls2 and find a suitable cam! Should I be looking for an ls3 cam then?

Contact Brian Tooley at Brian Tooley racing. He has cam packages and that includes specing you a custom cam for your setup.

It's got ls3 rockers already. My issue is I'd need to find a cam in the UK really, I don't have time to wait for one to be shipped. I'll get in contact with some LS guys over here and see what they say, I'll report back !

Will do. But in the mean time what cam would you recommend? As I said time is of the essence so it would need to be an on the shelf part.
Lumpy and lairy as possible thanks!
Appreciate the help,

Im no expert on 6.0s w LS3 heads but I would guess valve reliefs would be mandatory with those lift/duration #s, especially on a 111 LSA.
I don't think anyone has asked, but what are your goals and intentions with the car. That cam , if it does what they claim, would be a great street cam for a fairly aggressive combo. Not a DD cam, unless you don't mind the surging and bucking at low RPMs. Should sing at upper RPMs in a 6.0.

I have duel valve springs and ti retainers from my old ls2 which I'll be fitting. The engine is going into my 'competition spec' drift car, really looking for high rpm, most power above like 3500, Not worried about drive ability.
Here's a link to a build thread I've got

PTV was what I was talking about with valve relief. I think the cam would be good for what you do. The tighter LSA will help bring the torque in quickly. I know time is critical, but one of the grinders like Martin at Tick would be able to get the powerband right where you need it.

Look at these two cams:

For a TSP cam try the 233/239.

Myy friend - 2C5S - actually made very good numbers with a very similar cam but with more lift. He did have reliefs in the pistons. IMHO the heads LOVE lift with overlap in the 12-13 degree range and an ICL around 111. This is assuming you'll be running a composite intake.
