When is oil temp considered too high?

You don't want to see 300*. I actually shut mine down when it hits 270* on track days. I'd rather be safe than spin a bearing.

That's comforting, I was up to like 230-240 doing some canyons the other day... I thought that was too high. guess not.

Well...since I run amsoil which is far better than mobile 1, I feel if I watch the temp on the DIC and as long as it does not enter the red (look at the bar graph under the digital temp, far right side has "the red zone") just like any other guage...I'd be just fine

people actually take that oil temp meter seriously?

my coolant could be at 180 and my oil temp will say 300. already replaced the sensor and did the star washer.

yea man..im with radeon on this one..those sensors are garbage. theres no way the oil temp is as high as the sensor says..add in the fact that we have some pretty big pans as well.

2005 CTSV with mods in sig
45 minute commute this AM
80 degrees with 70% humidity

Oil Temp 194ish
Water Temp 192ish

Both varied a little up and down on the drive.

Car has 125k miles.
