Default *SOLD!* LS1 block and crank

Category: Engine - Complete Motors
Price: $400
Location (State): PA
Item Condition: Used
LS Engine?: Fits LS Engine

SOLD SOLD SOLD!!

Whats up all.

This is the last major thing that I have to sell.

This is an LS1 block, with crank, and clevite race bearings. The crank has NEVER been out since the motor was built by ARE. It spins very nicely and the motor was a great runner while it was together. Motor was a balanced and blue printed ARE motor with stock rods and ROSS pistons.

The valley area was modified for the LS6 valley cover, but doesnt affect anything (see picture).

This motor has been out a while, and there are a few water spots in the cylinders. If it were me, I would want to clean the cylinders up with a ball hone. Just a de-glaze clean up is all it would need. I can still see the cross hatch, but since you'll be putting new rings in probably, it wont hurt to touch them up. Same with the crank journals. Ide polish them up a bit, but they all seem pretty good.

Im PRETTY sure its a 99 block. It has less than 30k total miles on it since being built. Wish I would have grabbed the part/serial numbers off of it while I was at the garage sunday.

Comes with a cam retainer plate, and the rear cover...which also has never been removed and the RMS is dry as a bone.

Im asking $400 OBO. (I made a typo in the header, I adjusted it just to be clear...the price is 400 OBO)

Im not shipping at this point. But Ill throw this out there... I also have 317 heads, an LQ4 cam, LQ4 oil pan, and some other stuff. If you come get this block, I will give you anything else that I have sitting around and dont want. Haha take it to alum scrappers if you want. I just want the stuff gone.

PICS... Ask any question you'de like! Block is located in Coatesville 19320, but I could bring it to Norristown 19401 if you give me a couple days to get it. Also...I work in West Chester, so I could bring it to work with me and we could meet at lunch. Motor is light enough to lift by hand and could easily go in a car trunk Ide think.

Here's where the valley was modified. It wasnt done as clean as I feel like it could have been...I didnt do it so I cant take credit haha.

I'm not sure if the best way to ship it...

If you have a good suggestion on that, or anyone else, I'de consider it. I thought about getting a blue Rubbermaid tote and doing UPS, bit that might be super pricey.

I will do some research. Cant weigh more than 150lbs right?

J.

Edit: After a quick look on UPS, I think we'd be looking at $140-150 to Florida. That's using 150lbs as the weight, and guessing at dimensions. Might be less, and would prob be more of it were going further.

I'm going to look onto it a little more, then get back to ya.

That's a good question....and a major oversight on my part. Thanks...

I assumed it was std bore, but the Ross pistons that were in it were spec'd at a net diameter of 3.901". So now I'm thinking not.

I will have to measure the bores now to be sure. Didn't even think about that.

Thanks GNon18s!

Bump...

I am hoping to get over to the engine ASAP to take some measurements. Does anyone want to see any more pictures or any more info while Im there? Its stashed about 45 minutes away from where I live, so its kind of a chore to get to it.

Well, I wont be able to get any measurements until the 4th. Ill be working on my motor all day, so i can snag some more info then.

In the mean time, I tracked down the original sale description and price of the LS1. Obviously its gone through some changes since it was purchases, but the core info should still hold true. Tried to attach it, but something is going on with the site I think. Wouldnt let me upload it.

Ok, Got a chance to put my hands on the block again.

So, I measured with two methods. One was a digital caliper. The other was an insider spring loaded mic thing (not sure of the actual name).

I got 3.89 - 3.90. It was sort of hard to get it to settle. I measured most of them, and they were the same.

I remember using the calipers on the ROSS pistons, and they didn't measure 3.901...So I don't know if they were custom ordered or what. Or maybe my method of measuring isn't all that great.

That's the best I could do. The deglaze you would want to do shouldn't change it that much.

Need this thing gone Im tired of pushing it around! haha.

Bump. Had a few bites, but nothing has moved yet.

Both guys that were interested were in the Philly area and I had no issues loading the block up and brining it into the Norristown/Plymouth meeting area for a drop off.

If it doesnt go soon I might just push it into the corner for a rainy day haha.
