So the ZL1 owner should be embarrassed if he lost to a Ferrari F40? I mean it's a lot older than 6+ years so I guess he should be. Should he also be embarrassed if he lost to a whipple terminator? A 9+ year old mustang ought to be particularly embarrassing, right???

ZL1 = $58K + Pulley kit and Intake $1,000 = $59,000
MODDED GTO = 33K NEW + 4,500 for H/C/Stall INSTALLED ~$38K
ZL1's have to be the most worthless display of horsepower vs return around!!
How embarrassed would the ZL1 Owner be to get beat by a 03 Cobra with boltons!?!?

The 1987 Buick GN was a better bang for buck car over the present day ZL1, along with 98% of 4th Gen Fbodies on this site...
GM gave most of us what we wanted in the HSV 500 monaro in 2006, but the jerks wouldn't bring it over here! A supercharged Factory LS car for under 45K
When the ZL1 hit GM knew that most people would latch on to it for heritage and pay the pretty penny for one.. In a performance aspect $ vs $, Mod vs Mod, its a pathetic POS

Someone buy me a ZL. I bet it can run 10's with bolt-ons.

Have seen quite a few go 11.30-40 completely stock. So definately no slouch. Seems to me the only people who hate are the broke dicks who have to prove something.

throw this on the GTO, throw that on the GTO. Regardless of what you guys wanna talk the ZL1 is a beast. It's a heavy bitch for sure but if the GTO had to hold to the crash standards of today it would be alot heavier as well. Also the GTO new wasn't really that cheap either and the ZL1 will be worth more much further down the road. I love GTO's too but you guys sound like a bunch of sandy *****

But with a 124mph trap, the ZL1's making enough power for mid-low 11's. I think even MotorTrend went 12.1 with a stock ZL1...
11.80's at 117mph for the cobra sounds right on to me.
