Lightest 17 x 11 wheels?
Hi guys, I'm looking for a good pair of lightweight 17 x 11 wheels to mount my 315/35/17 drag radials on. Anybody have an idea which 17 x 11 inch wheel is the lightest? Or at least something lighter than the heavy black ZR1s I currently have?
Thanks guys!

My wote for cheap light wheels would be zr1's , My vote for light race wheels would be any company you like that makes Forged Race Wheels... Key term being Forged, but if they are forged they are most likely going to be expensive but here are a few brands....

Simmons

FWIW I have had both "Real" OEM ZR1s and AFS ZR1s. the OEM ZR1's weighed about ~4 pounds less than the AFS set, so I recall they were in the ~24 pound range for OEM and 27 pounds for AFS..... The OEM ZR1s have a machined inner hub.

My 315/35-17 (just the tire) weighs 33 lbs. and the wheel weighs 22 lbs.
The whole thing 55 lbs (using bathroom scale)... not the most accurate weighing device but good enough to have an idea. I'm sure you are in the 40lbs neighborhood.

I shipped some 17X11 TTII's with 315 Nitto Drags on there and they were 55lbs ea. and the 17X9.5 with 275 Bridgestone RE71's were 53lbs ea I believe. If I recall correctly, the Fikse 17X11 with 315 AVS Sports were around 52lbs (it seemed the tires were heavy) and the fronts were about 48-49 or so. I think the Fikse's with the 315 nitto drags would be around 49-50, so I'm guessing they are 5-6lbs lighter than the TTII's.
If weight is the issue, forget the 17's and get some 15's with slicks/dr's. You can get down around 25-30 for the wheel/tire combo. The centerline warriors are nice and light.
I don't look forward to weighing the new 18X10 2pc. Intro GT Sports.

Bogart Road Race Wheels in the 17 x 9 size are fifteen pounds each. With a 275/40/17 tire that weighs 25 lbs. combo would be 40 lbs. Possible, one of the lightest and strongest wheel-tire combo available. Check their website before you buy.

pla-tym2 is correct, the rims are very light and strong...weight does vary slightly depending on how the rim is built, to say that an 11 inch wide rim will be between 16-18 lbs is a pretty good estimate.
If more assistance is needed, feel free to e-mail us directly. We can build 17's from 5.5 up to 17 inches wide in .5 inch increments.

If the tire is 33 pounds I think it would be higher than 40. The rim wieghs more than 7lbs its light but not that light..
