Default Highest safe compression ratio for 100 shot?

a friend of mine has a nitrous kit hes selling for a really good price. only problem is my 408 is set at 11:1. how low would i need it to go to safely run a 100 shot and what would be the easiest way to do it?

compression loves nitrous. just take out some spark. 11:1 is no factor. just yank about 4 degrees.

I like spark control via EFI Live's COS5. (costly but best way imo)
LNC2000 seems pretty good too because you can tigger it on/off and won't affect your n/a driving

You are fine on that compression to around 150-175 on pump gas. People have sprayed more on pump but you really have to know what you are doing when spraying that much on pump.

Not trying to be down on you, but why is your 408 only making 475 hp thru an m6? I would look into that first and then spray it.

SilverBullet - It's due to my lovely exhaust setup. Pacesetter 1 3/4" headers, 3" y pipe, and an AWESOME FLOWING Chokemaster 80 series :-(

Cut that flowmaster off and put a straight thru muffler like a dynomax bullet or a Magnaflow on there. That should get you over the 500rwhp hump and bump the torque up too. The headers an y pipe are not hurting you too bad its the flow master thats killing you. One other easy thing is to throw a cutout on there.

With getting that hp up it will be there all the time unlike the nitrous.

With the right components a 408 should make 530-550 all day with an m6 behind it.

Totally agree. My little ls1 with heads, cam and intake made 457 rwhp on a Mustang dyno with a th400 and moser 9.
