I ran with a ams500 with c02. It was nice and worked like it should of. It used dip switches to change the mode and ***** that u need to use a small screwdriver to set. You have launch psi. And then down track psi and you set your ramp rate.
I bought a boostleash 2 with the pulse leash. Lcd display, push button adjustments and 5 stages of control. Launch psi, and each stage you can set what boost your want and the ramp rate and durration.
i have no info on the ams 1000 but for the price and what i needed it to do the boost/pulse leash fit my budget.

You're in Chi-Town, drive to Sound Performance and get you a fully setup ProEFI system... There boost/traction control is just nuts. If you're against a EMS get the Boost Leash.

The ams1000 is a nice controller, but if you want something for the street and you drive the car a lot, you don't want time based. You really are better off with a speed sensor on the front wheel. We've used holley for this and the hyperkontrol and both work great. Buy a good controller and you can go faster on a pure street tire than guys can go on slicks with a cheap controller!

we have had alot of success with turbosmart eboost's the "street" and the "2"
depending on how serious the car is, i would suggest an eboost2.

i am running a summer special right now, and can go a little cheaper than that price, shoot me a pm if you are interested.

I want to do this but I want to talk to someone with an fbody to see how they like the boost control, timing, flexfuel, and traction control of the proefi. All my supra buddies rave about it.
