Default What to excpect, boosted LS3

Whats up guys? I just came up on a Vortech Si kit for my C5 I planned on having installed soon. I currently have a stock top end, stock bottom end LS3 with a TSP 231/236 114lsa cam, 1 3/4 headers with bullet mufflers dumping under the car. The car puts down around 460rwhp 455rwtq. I was wondering what I can expect with 7-8lbs of boost on 91oct gas. My compression ratio currently is 10.5:1. I would be thrilled to get close to 575-600rwhp and high 10's in the 1/4. Thanks for your input.

Sorry Nate, couldn't resist.
Welcome to the LS FI forum.

I'll step aside and let the experts chime in.

I've seen that blower on my friends car make about 550 on his bolt on C6 (at the time. Upgraded headunit to a D1SC). With a pulley change and cam swap it did 638 but it was maxed out.

Interesting. Was he making the 638 on stock internals?

I know its in a Camaro and not a vette but on the stock bottom end and stock heads/cam I make 607rwhp and 525ft lbs at 12 psi out of my V3 Si. I have LTs, ported TB and intake, no cats, 3" exhaust from headers back with JBA mufflers. For fuel I have the 65psi injectors that came with the V3 kit and Zl1 fuel pump with the ADM FPCM. Probably would make more if I'd take the 22" rims off.

thats my issue right now. 600 was fun for about three months then I deployed and the build for 800 will happen when I get home. Lots of LS3 Camaros in my area pushing 600-650 at the wheels with no issues. Just make sure you have plenty of fuel and a good tune

^^
That sounds awesome man but I still want to keep the car somewhat streetable. Even with the power it has now it just destroys the tires. Hopefully 600rwhp will keep me happy for a while but you're right, eventually you get use to the power and want more.

that's the great thing about centris you don't use full boost unless your at WOT. If I'm just driving around I rarely get into boost. Half pedal I might build 4-5 psi before I shift. I have 12psi at 6200rpm but never get close to using that on the street. I feel your pain on tires. I did the 3.91 gear swap on my Camaro before I did the V3 and 1st gear is useless with street tires now.

600 is nothing for a LS3. Plenty in the 700-850 range. Obviously it won't last forever be all know the risk. I'm a 741rwhp and it drives just as normal.
