Default What would you pay for these SS's?

Looking to get into a Camaro finally and have found these close to me.

First car is an a4. 85k miles on body. built trans, 3600 yank stall, decent sized cam, engine has been freshened up (new main bearings, arp crank bolts, ported heads). I only briefly spoke to the owner so I dont remember everything he said.

Second car looks to be all stock

Wouldn't even bother with the first car, but if you really want it I'd pay no more than 12k for the 24000 mile stock one

I was figuring the same for the red one as well. I just dont see him budging on the price.

Im still going to look at the first one but theres no way Im giving him that for it. I think $11k tops.

Im not to wild about the red either, but I can make it work. KBB value for excellent condition is $11600 or around there. 12k seems fair to me.

$9k or so for the black one. Maybe a touch more just because it's an 02.

11 to MAYBE 12k for the red one depending on condition, history, ect. I've seen some 30k mile turds before, and some 90k mint original owner gems.

So the owner of the red one responded saying "KBB doesn't recognize a Camaro SS for what it really is worth. There is no other SS like his on CL. Im not willing to go any lower than 14".

Guess that ones out of the question. lol

If you can get that 24k mile one for 12k jump on it.

Not everyone is willing to budge on their selling prices especially when they price a vehicle fairly. It seems some people seem to think think they're going to pickup a 24k mile SS or WS6 for $11k and it just doesn't happen most of the time.

These cars are getting older and older (and not "good" old yet). $14k is getting really close to the market for a decent C5 corvette, and C5's are better in just about every single way except back room seat space when compared to an FBody.

Your kind of comparing apples to oranges. I think theres no way you could pick up a 24k mile C5 vette for $14k unless it had title issues. When you look at used sports cars they tend to be either babied or beat. Id rather have a garage queen 24k mile SS over a 80k mile vette thats been ran hard. No doubt in general the C5 is a better car overall but a 14k C5 with a clear title history will probably not be a low mileage gem.

I said "you're getting close" to C5 territory, not in it. You're only about $3,000 away from getting a well maintained clean <50k mile C5.

I'd rather have a clean 40k mile C5 than a clean 30k mile fbody if the price difference is only a few thousand off.

And really, it's comparing Macintosh apples to Washington apples-both the same thing, just a few differences. American, RWD, V8, GM, sports car, same vintage range, same motor, ect ect.

The only "pro" to the fbody is the back seat, and, if you're looking for a clean low mileage car you're probably not considering it as a daily driver/family hauler anyway, so that point is moot for a lot of people, closing the gap between the 2 cars even more IMO.
