Default top outlet FMIC, who's runnin one like this?

Treadstone has a top outlet intercooler I've been looking into. The TRST9. I know its real popular with the Vette crowd but who's running it on an fbody. I know the hood latch has to go. Says its capable of supporting 1300hp. Any pics or thoughts with a procharger or front mount single?

Hood latch can stay, but you need to notch the radiator core support. I know you can fit a 4" tube over the radiator and under a stock SS hood and WS6 hood. Not sure if the stock flat hoods would clear.

That could be interesting to use for a f-body. I got rid of my hood latch in favor of the aero-catches, but I'm not sure how it would work with the hood.

Damn I like that. Finished off with a nice radiator shroud that would be exactly what I had I'm mind.

I run that exact treadstone intercooler, not a 4th gen but it's an f-body:

I do not have hood pins, i use turn buckles and pins through the grill area (which sucks!), i need to build a new latch system

Treadstone says it is for the viper, corvette, camaro guys with a core size of 25x9x3.5. I haven't even checked but does that fall in line with the core size normally used on fbodies?

Tx91z28 how do you like that intercooler? Any issues with it that you can think of?

I was thinking of having Bell make me an IC. What size core are you running and what are the before and after run IATs?

Ill be running a twin set up with inlets on each side and outlet on top like that. Just the placement works better for my car/setup.

I just got the car running so I don't have any iat info yet, but I will soon. I think the core is 26x12x4.5. When I spoke to Gerrard at Bell he asked for my complete build info, turbo, hp levels, etc and he designed that intercooler specifically for it.

Has to be 4" piping. Man that sucker is intimidating looking to say the least!

I've heard through out the years, that these vertical style coolers are more efficient than the horizontal designs. Anyone else heard this rumor?

could you fit it upside down so the outlet faces down and your piping go under the core support and up to TB?

I would think so, just all in how you want to run your charge pipes. Only thing I see might be an issue would be running your cold side right behind the radiator. Heating your piping before it goes in the engine. Kind of like fighting an uphill battle, know what I mean... Unless of course you made a radiator design change or really insulated your charge piping.

Good question, that would be great to have another option to run it.
