Default What's the lowest boost you can launch a car of with no co2?

Im looking into all different kind of serious boost controllers. What i need to be able to do id run as little as 2,3 psi on the trans brake and then have it ramp in all the way to 22ish.

I called turbosmart and they say you can use a 3lbs spring and launch on that. Then it would ramp in after launch. They claim this can be done with no co2 or compressed air.

I have measured back pressure on my setup. At 20psi intake I'm at 35 psi exhaust. I don't think that would work well with out compressed air. I have no issue running it just wanted too see what you guys think of their claims.

Im not dead set on that controller just exploring options.

I believe the spring I use is a 1.7 pound. Call Tial up and they can hook you up

For that sort of variation in boost I'd say it would be impossible without some sort of compressed air source.

Whether that is CO2 or simple compressed air via a compressor and reservoir.

Obviously CO2 would be easier, but eventually it will run done

You can only make around double the spring, so if you run a 10lb spring can run 20lbs. This is the huge advantage to running co2(or on board air). I run 1.5lb springs in my setup.

That's what I thought to. The lady at turbo smart did not seem to knowledge but insisted on taking on my tech question. She thinks you can run a 3lbs spring to 20lbs with no compressed air.
