DD with drag radials?
Needing to run a 305/35/18 in the rear of my c5 for the z06 rims I just purchased and I'm wondering if anybody daily drives there car with drag radials on the rear? And if so what kinda mileage can u see out of them, looking at the mt et street radial II's. I ordered 275/40/17 nitto 555's for the fronts but I'm not really wanting the 555R's for the rear considering I've heard they suck lol and they're only 25 bucks cheaper a tire over the mt's

Running nto5rs but I've only put about 50 miles so far, Mae sure you sty in the mid 20's as far as psi. There are a few threads on people getting 3 to 4 thousand out of the nittos, streets might be a different story and way less from what I remember

I run Toyo Proxes TQs, they wear just as good as Nitto 555r but hook a lot better. I've put 14k miles on them and they still have a decent amount of tread. I've been to the track with them and have done some burnouts and dig runs as well.
I bought 2 315/35/17s for $385 shipped. I'll get them again but may go to a 305 since they are way wider than my 315 Nittos before them and rub some....

I have a set of toyo tq's in 275/40/17's I was running on my drag pack set on some front 17" z06 wheels and they didn't hook that well to me in comparison to the mt et street radials I had before

Nittos here... 315/17
Drive the car every day. They do pretty good in the rain, only time I have a problem is when it comes a flood I have to slow down.
They hook amazing... I nearly dead hook from a 20 roll without heating... If I heat them up it barely spins them over.
From a dig they also work great, I don't have traction issues by any means.
408 car so it is making power/tq.

Toyos are probably a nicer tire than the NT05R or MT ET Street Radials on the street.
With that said, they are a bit of an upgrade over the NT555Rs. So I'd consider them and the NT555Rs first.
Then I'd look at the NT05R or MTs.
Another option is the Toyo R888s... You won't have any flex when handling. They are a sticky road race tire that's better in the wet than all of them.
I have NT05s now and they handle well but don't grip. They do look awesome tho. I might get the NT05Rs to have matching front and rear...
But, I'm probably going to give the MT ET Street Radial IIs a go in 315/35-17. They have an actual tire pattern, so they might be decent on the street. And they probably hook the best of all 5 tires mentioned.

I have toyo R888 on all 4 tires. 275/35R18 up front and 315/30R18 out back. I love how they grip in the corners but I have no problem spinning them in first through third. Mods are in my sig. 4.56s probably don't help though.

I posted this in another thread last night:
The issue of Super Chevy had a 275 NT05R cutting the same times as the 315 MT more or less with the same 60 foot. It's just the NT05R needed less air pressure and more of a burnout to do it. Armed with that knowledge, it seems like the MTs would be better on the street: more traction with less heat and higher air pressures.

I would do that. It'll hook like the 555R, last a while, be good in the rain, and will handle very well.
Good to know. I'll have the NT05R in 315s coming. Once they wear and the 275 NT05s I have wear, I'll put the R888s on there.

Just ordered the 555r's from tirecrazy.com for 576 shipped for the pair, was goin to go with the toyo tq's til I saw that the nittos has a 100 tread wear rating at least where as the toyos had none, that and I wanted to match my 275/40/17 555's up front
