Billet Specialties "Rally" Wheels I just stumbled accross these and I need help with the correct backspacing for a 17x8 (fronts) and 15x10 (rears) for my 02 WS6. Do I need a 7.5 backspacing for the rears, or something else? I thought I had my mind set on the Street Lites, but I like the look of these wheels and think they would look killer in a 17/15 setup.
Also, if I go this route, what drag radial would you recommend for the rears? I found a set of BFGoodrich G-Force Drag Radials (275/50/15) for $167.00 per tire and then some BFGoodrich G-Force 245/40/17 for the fronts at $118.00 per tire. Thoughts?

You need 7.5" BS on the 15x10 and on the 17x8 you would need 6" BS.
I'd run the MT ET Street Radials 275/50-15 and the MT Street Comp 245/45-17s front. They cost more, but eh.
Or a more streetable setup would be the Nitto NT555R in those sizes rear and the NT555 front.

I was just looking at some offset charts.
The 4.5" BS 17x7 is a 12mm offset, which seems like it would hit the fender. But a 17x8 with a 5" BS is the same 12mm offset. So technically, the 5" BS would work.
A 5.5" BS is 25mm offset in a 17x8. That should fit fine.
The 6" BS is a 38mm offset.
I'd run the 5.5" on the 17x8.

Thank you rocket22 and JakeFusion. In regards to the lookf of the Billet Specialites Rally wheels, do you like them better than the Billet Specialties Stree Lites? I'm kind of torn between the two. I need to check the wheel weights as well, as I assume the Street Lites are lighter than the Rally wheels.
JakeFusion, do you think I'll have any issues with clearing the rear break caliper with the 15x10 7.5 backspacing?

Nice looking wheel. But one thing to keep in mind is that they did a specifically designed/altered 15x10 street lite to clear the brakes on our cars. So unless you plan on running a spacer or running a drag style rear brake, you're going to be grinding the crap out of your rear brakes to make those fit.

Well, I just looked on the website I found the BS Rally wheels and in a 15x10 rear, the biggest backspacing they come in is 7.25. I know I've heard 7.5 is ideal, so would a 7.25 backspacing work? Would that make the wheel sit in more, or stick out further and how would that affect clearance with my rear brake calipers? Sorry, this whole backspacing thing confuses me.

The backspacing is the distance of the mating surface against the hub to the rear edge of the rim. The issue isn't there, it's the rotating diameter of the barrel of the wheel rubbing against the fins/edges of the caliper. The wheel likely won't physically 'fit' over the brake system due to the barrell being smaller in this area.

7.25 would stick further out. The lower the number the more lip and further it sticks out.
And the problem is not so much the spoke clearance. It's the barrel on a 15" wheel. The Street Lite 15 clears the stock brakes no problem...
Why not just run a 17x11 with MT ET Radial IIs or NT05Rs? On the street, that combo will actually perform better. The 15s with their sidewall won't handle anywhere near stock. The 17" DRs wont handle great either, but you can drive the car normal.

Yeah they do have the Rally in 17x11 with a 7.5 bs. When I was dead set on the Street Lites I was going to do a 17x8/17x11 combo, so I can do the same sizes with the Rally wheels. Just need to figure out which style I like better.

Oh ok, lol. Well in that case I'd go with a 17" wheel. I wasn't sure what your plan was OP, had you kept the 'street' setup I'd say go with a 15" all around for track only. But with the power your car's making (I'm gonna guess 450ish?) you'll do fine on the street with a 17" setup. My vote's for street lites. Can't beat the dish on the 17x11s and the 17x7 front works well for both street/track duty. You're likely gonna need a biased ply tire to get that car to hook at the track anyway, I don't think a DR is going to deliver the 60' times you'd expect.
