removing oil pressure sensor from top of block?

Default removing oil pressure sensor from top of block?

dont see a need for it since going carb its just in the way.... anyways, what size socket does it take? also, any idea on the thread size? i want to plug the hole.

Just break the plastic connector off the sensor and call it good. You can also drill and tap it for a mech gauge after you get rid of the plastic.

I would mount my oil pressure there, just preference I guess. They started putting the sensors up there for a true oil pressure reading I thought? On my old sbc I lost 10 or so lbs mounting it up top vs the side of the block

16mm 1.5 thread. i'd use for autometer guage.

Yep I have autometer metric adapter with threads mentioned to a 1/8 not and it reads in the factory location..

Same here on the upper oil pressure feed. Well almost, I have a sender that threads into the lifter valley cover. No interference with the intake at all and you have to look for it to know its there.

I run all mine to that location. The secret adapter for it comes in my electric water temp sensor kit. Lol. Adapts to the 1/8th NPT electrical water temp sensor.

its an option but would be a big black eye on my motor with the time i have taken to make it a clean setup. no offense to anyone who of course

i ordered the 1 1/16 long socket for it today... couldnt pass it for 9 bucks shipped..

im going to plug the hole and run my oil pressure off of my oil filter..what size are the threads on the sensor?

i already have my oil pressure gauge installed in my custom cluster i built...

My regular oil pressure gm socket that I used on my old sbc engines fit the gen III and IV sensors.
