I know the 93 has a steeper first gear and was wondering can this become a problem with 3.73 gears? Here is my dyno sheet. the main reason i am concerned is because of my tourque output

well its a pretty good tourque curve and becuase the 93 t-56 has a steeper 1st gear than 94-97 I am concerned about breaking my transmission if i run 3.73 gears in back. would I be safe to run those gears?

both numbers seem low unless its stock then they ain't bad at all.

My 95 lt1 put down 262whp and 305wtrq bone stock.
Dyno's are done in whatever gear is 1:1 so not first lol, 4th for our trannies I believe. If anything though the slightly steeper rear gear would amplify the torque more, torque would be higher than 3.42's but top speed for the gear would be reduced. That's my understanding of it anyway

Oooooh Ic what you mean, yah even with 3.42's the 10 bolt can be broken with a stock engine. Don't run drag slicks are you might be alright for a while.

The ratio doesn't matter (so much) as the traction. Beings that you have a 6-speed you are more likely to do damage to the 10-bolt, however that problem is amplified more with a sticky tire. At your power level I don't see it being a problem though.

Short version - don't hook hard and you won't have a problem. Your torque output means nothing.

well the numbers on the dyno at the wheels were 365tq and 360hp which is pretty big difference from yours. and yes thats why i ask becasue if i step up my gears i step up tourque to the trans and this has become my concern.

Yea but im more concerned with the trans as the rear end can be replaced pretty cheap. I dont understand how tourque has little effect on which gear Im in.. if i step up my gears ill probly be shifting super fast to 2nd

It's not the cumulative output you should be worrying about. It's the shock on the driveline between switching gears that causes stuff to break. Sure you'll be shifting with shorter intervals between shifts but you'll still be shifting the same number of times.

Short answer. 3.73s and the M29 (1993) T-56 = 4.10s and the MN6 (94+) T-56. I used to have that combo before I bought a built 94+ T-56.
