Default Loudmouth I exhaust systems

So I take it that the Loudmouth I is essentially the same as straight pipe pretty much. That's what I found out I have on my 02 Trans Am, not the loudmouth II. That would explain why my system is so obnoxiously loud with headers and no cats to boot. I wonder if going with a loudmouth II muffler or even a powerflo muffler would get the right tone. I like nice and deep tones, no drone, and hear every cyclinder ripple through the pipes. Straight pipe sound is just obnoxious sounding to me. I like it more refined and not so loud

Any of the striahgt through, bullet mufflers would sound better.

Magnaflow, Borla, Loudmouth 2, dynomax, etc would all sound better.

Or run cats, I had LTs, hi flow cats, and a LM exhaust and loved the sound.

So are all of the bullet style mufflers muffled with fiberglass style padding?

Yes, most bullet style mufflers have some type of packing. The SLP LM1 is a rare exception. BTW try running your setup with heads, a big cam, and increased compression lol. That's what I have (about to change this week though) and it's just retarded loud and raspy lol

Well, I'm debating LM2 or PowerFlo(since I got longtubes and no cats). I would assume PowerFlo is real good when you get on it and nice at idle but not too loud

I have the lm2 installed on my car with no cats and long tubes it sounds like CRAP when im cruising around town but does sound good full throttle. Im going to make the switch to a true dual set up.

The LM 1 and the LM 2 look the same basically (same size, dimentions, etc) but the LM2 is an actual muffler where as the LM1 is nothing but a hollow resonator
