Gears?
I was looking to put the motive 3.90 gears in my 06 m6. I was wondering if anyone has them or do you guys think they will be worth the money?

Gears
Yeah I have them. Bought them from GForce. I have an 04 m6. I put them in only because i had the much hated whine. I figured since i had to rebuild anyway why not throw some 3.91,s in there. All I can say is AWSOME!!
Where I notice the most is from 20 mph to 60....wow..I think they are worth it.
They seemed, to me anyway, to make my goat feel a little lighter. But i am pretty much stock...

3.91's make 2nd through 4th gear way more fun and make 5th gear more like 4th and 1/2. Great mod for the money. Just make sure you find a shop that knows how to do the install. Few things are more aggravating than the dreaded rear end whine following an improper gear install.

Motive gears take careful installation to alleviate the side effect of aftermarket gears. I have installed a ton of these, careful blueprinting is the way to go when using them. Some guys slap 'em in without checking measurements and such. One well known vendor even recommends removing the factory shim for install..... Never have I had one set use the race without a shim.
Even when done correctly, they can have issues of not fitting properly and can whine on occasion. If you can afford it, use oem gears, they are the best you can buy at the moment.

I have the OEM 3.91 and they are super quiet but they will cost you $750 plus while you're in there if you stick with the stock diff you should add a spring tuning kit and put a harrop cover on it. THe harrop adds more fluid to help keep the temps down and also bolts to the bottom of the car so less movement by the pumpkin.
