Continental ExtemeContact DW tire life?
Right now I have my eyes on this tire as my next set. I don't do track days and most of my driving is pretty calm commuting with a few WOT runs here and there and aggressive on/off ramps. Overall the miles I put on the tires are pretty easy. I like the reviews of this tire being sticky but also comfortable, and it is a lightweight tire.
Any guess on the mileage I will get out of this tire? Looking to do 255/45 all around. Thanks

When I was buying tires for both sets of my wheels, I pitted the ExtremeContact DW against the Hankook Ventus V12 as a potential wet/dry summer tire for my Forgestar F14s.
The deciding factor for me was wet performance. Not only is the Hankook superior when new, but the ExtremeContact DW loses almost all wet traction when treadwear reaches 50%. The other thing that surprised me about the Ventus V12 was how amazingly quiet they are compared to the BFG g-force KDW 2 tires I replaced. Both sets have zero snow capability.

I've had mine on for 6k, and have more than half life left. Wet conditions could be better. Much quieter than BFG KDWs. Will be switching to Michelin Super Sports when I buy 19" wheels.

Thanks... doesn't look like they make those T1R's anymore or at least not in stock size. Debating on 245 or 255's... wouldn't mind a bit more rubber and sidewall height so might just do the 255's, same price... smooth out 1st gear a tiny bit too. It would give the car an effective rear end ratio of 3.68 lol..

I've had mine for 10-12k, staggered 245 front 275 rear. When I still had the Maggie I could not spin the tires except to dump the clutch...these things hook pretty hard for a street tire. I have never had an issue with wet performance at all. My only complaint is that after they sit for a long while (storage) they wobble for a bit from the flat spots, but other than that they are probably the best street tire I've had to this point. I got them on clearance from tire rack, but will def get another set when they're gone in about another 8-10k miles.
BTW- I drive like an *******, so for a set of tires to last 20k miles on a nearly 2 ton car is exceptional IMO.

Nothing to add other than the cool wear bars on the DW's. They have a D and a W marked in the tread, when the W goes away, it's no longer good for wet traction and when the D goes away, replace them.

The only tire you'll get 30-40k out of is something with a 500+ treadwear rating like the Continental ExtremeContact DWS.
FYI, I got 10k miles out of my old BFG g-force KDW 2s, which had a 300 rating. The definition of an "aggressive" driver varies.

I got about the same out of my KDW's. Loud and short life. The DW's are lasting longer, and I like them much more than the KDW's. I agree with DMM...they hook very well. 245's up front, 275's in rear for me.

I have the v12 for my summer tires and I really like them. I was stuck between them or nitto invos and I am really glad I went with the hankooks.
