03 C5 Corvette Z06 front mount turbo build
Figured this will be a fun build and Ls1Tech worthy lol. The car is a 03 Z06 this gonna be a street car and have some occasional track time. The current mods are long tube headers CAI ,B&B bullets (which the exhuast note is sick) and a cam setup. Well like every one else we eventually change setups so he wanted to go forced induction. Here is the car.here is the game plan of parts that will be used.
Engine:
Lq4 block
Stock rods and pistons
Stock 317 heads with dual springs
Cam still undecided
Procomp heads studs with ls9 gasket and ls7 lifters
Stock crankshaft, ls6 manifold with stock TB
Fuel:
Since we are in California were gonna be running on good'ole 91oct fuel with meth injection
60lb injectors
Still having trouble on wat fuel pumps you vette guys run any help is appreciated.
Stock fuel lines and rails
Turbo setup:
The turbo kit that we will be using is a Hinson Super Cars front mount kit
With a Turnonetics T76 with the 68mm turbine wheel.
Tial 44mm wastegate
50mm BOV and front mount intercooler

Hopefully within the next two weeks. Here's some progress from earlier in the week.
tare down of short block after the block being stripped here are the results of the block painted and looking pretty the pistons and rods after being blasted and checked.

As for a fuel pump you might want to look into one of these setups.

i have an 03 Z06 with the new style c6 system, which one is yours? is the tank by the back tire on the bottem or is it on the top of the tank? if you have the one on top then you have the C6 style. i just purched a dual pump plug and play from ragin-racin and it is nice. if you have the money http://www.foreinnovations.com/product_p/38-900.htm makes a nice piece also.
of course your could always do the the easy way and tap the bottem of the tank and run an external on a hobs switch. if you do it this way you will need the stock regulator block off plates to put in the stock hat assymbly.
here is a link to the one i bought. it is about halfway down the page on the right

Also I'm not sure in what location the fuel pump is at meaning if its on top or on the side of the tank I have t checked. The car was built in 11/02 if that helps

not sure on when they changed over to the newer c6 style, it was in 03 but some 03's have the older style and some have the newer. also if you have the c6 style, you have to run atleast 56psi of pressure to make the second tank pump over into the drivers side tank. i have been researching for the past 3 months and went with the ragin. it is a dual walbro255 or you can get the aeromotive 340's for a little more. racetronix makes the plug and play harness for them so it is truely plug and play. you can have both pumps run at the same time or you can do a hob switch on one of the pump.
doing the external and tapping the tank is the cheapest and some companys like A&A and ECS have fine tuned theirs and they work. Only down side i see to that, is you still have to drop the tank to do all of it. so my thought is why not buy a plug and play set up. cost was cheaper to.
p.s.- if you have the newer style system my friend has the RSI twin pump with a boost a pump he is getting ready to put up for sale on here.
p.s.s. the easiest way to check to see which style you have is to look behind the plastic liner in the driver side rear fender, if you see the pump you have the newer style. if you see nothing but a tank, you have the c6

Thanks guys!! Well we got the engine in and started putting everything together... We got the cold side done. But instead of keeping it simple we decided to make it more "unique" lol
