Default 4L80E with a Speed Density Tune

Is anyone running this setup?

In the past from what I have seen with the Auto Transmissions when the MAF throws a code the PCM will command Max Line Pressure. Since running SD you trick the PCM by enabling that MAF Code on first scan, will this affect the commanded Pressure of the 4L80E?

Is there a way to get around this?

Ahh ok..will that automatically revert to the MAP Sensor even with the error codes under "No Report"?

The PCM has to have a Maf DTC to be in SD mode. Set the codes to no mil, and uncheck the SES box.

What year pcm do you have? As the 2001 & down need to have the Max Line Pressure DTC's disabled in the Trans Diagnostics.

Russ is right. You will have no problem running the 4L80e with an SD tune. Just have to properly set it up for speed density.

I have a 2002 LS1 Fbody PCM. I have my MAF Codes to report on first error, I'll have to change that. Thanks for the help.

Mike13 above meant to set the DTCs to not-reported in the transmission diagnostics tables (DTC Max Pressure, DTC Fault Pressure, DTC Failsafe Enabler)

[ leave the engine MAF DTC enabed, otherwise you won't be running in SD ]
