Default Holley HP Leaning Fuel? How lean can I go.

Trying to fine tune to get better fuel mileage. LS LQ9 with cam and a2004R OD tranny. At 70 mph rpm is 1900 or so. Only getting about 16 mpg. Seems it should be much better. I have changed the A/F table to 14.7 in the cruising range. How much leaner is safe?
Timing is around 28.5 in the same cruising range.

Every combo is different, but all your factory stuff is 14.7. You'll have to try each a/f ratio and see if one nets better mileage. I start at 14.7, then 14.8,14.9 etc. Have you tried more timing in the cells where its cruising in. 28.5 seems a little low for cruise. I would try a little more timing first then try leaning it out.

Here are my fuel map and spark currently. Getting around 16 mpg with my foot in it city/highway. Rear end is 308 with the 2004R tranny OD is .67. Cruising at 70 mph tach is reading between 1800 and 1900 rpm.

Advanced the timing one degree in the cruising range. The gas mileage was slightly improved to 16.5. Thats combo city highway. Will adjust the A/F.

Try adding 1 more degree in the light cruise cells.

I will double check the decel fuel cut enabled but I think its checked off. My last MPG with mild city and some highway was 16.7 mpg.
Some mods, Bullet cam, 42 lb injectors. Bored .030 over, 241 heads decked.
