Default My V vs an LS3 Camaro

No vids, sorry.

Long Version:

Driving up to go get some mejican karting in when I run into a red Camaro. I see him tailing me a bit while I'm moving slowly thru traffic to find the opening. Once I find it, I move over, downshift, and gun it. I look behind and I see he's still about 2-3 cars behind me... not pulling or passing me, but from what it looked like, slowly falling back. I let off and moved to the middle lane (since we had caught up to traffic), where he then pulled up to the left lane and we both were laughing.

We ended up getting side by side and talking. He was a cool guy (first time I've run into someone who wasnt acting like a cocksmoker). First question I asked him was if it was an LS3. He said yes. He then asked me what I had. I told him LS2 with headers. He asked if I needed someone to tune, because he had a Diablosport. I told him I was already tuned. He said he had a ZL1 exhaust. He said he made 440 wheel horsepower?! (Seems way too high, IMO) The whole time we were talking, we were holding up traffic behind us on the 2 lane mexican parkway, so he asked 'want to run it from here?', and I agreed. I told him to honk it off, but he said I should honk it. I honked it 3 times, and hit it, slightly delayed after the 3rd honk so I didn't steal the hit.

I put about 2 cars on him by the time I looked in my pass mirror and saw him there. I let off somewhere around 100ish or so from what was probably a 5 or 10mph roll. He pulled up laughin and telling me he was in the wrong gear. He then waved me out and left.

Seems a Civic saw this go down, so he lines up next to me afterwards with a few of his buddies in the car. He asks what I have under the hood, and I told him a V8. He smiled and hit the gas. I didn't notice he had went wot until i heard the civic in high rpm and he started pulling me a bit.... so I hit the gas and just rolled out on him. I let off around 100, with something like a bus length+ on him. LOL

I had a passenger. Camaro had none. Civic looked like it had people lapping up in the back. LMAO

I also have a trunk full of **** including a dewalt tool box.

I think the SS was probably making something like 350-360ish? Anyone care to chime in on what a catback only ls3 SS makes?

Short Version:
CTS-V takes red LS3 camaro in a low roll first gear run by 2+ cars
CTS-V smokes primered Honda

He's lying about 440 wheel unless he has headers and a really good tune. Cause I made 433rwhp on a mustang dyno back when I just had headers.
And to give you a general idea,
The 2010-2012 LS3 SS's make around 370rwhp stock
The 2013-2014's make around 380rwhp stock. (Thanks to electric power steering), and that NPP ("ZL1") exhaust is (believed by some) maybe good for like 5 crank hp.

I figured the 440 wheel was way too high. No offense to the guy, but just seemed too high. He didn't pull on me the way someone who made 440 wheel with ~same curb weight car would have. He didn't pull on me at all, tbh

I made 372rwhp at Tunetime in NJ. Thats a Mustang Dyno there.

i have a ls3 2010 camaro cam . made 461. catback only helps with weight. but my car against a 100% stock 11 v . i got him by 1-2 cars . but my car seems to run alot better then most other camaros ive raced.

the average ls3 camaro puts down 370's maybe 380's on ur average dyno.
maybe he ment 440 flywheel ? lol

The ls3 camaro and V1s are a drivers race. When both are stock i could see a V pulling on a ls3 from a slow roll just because of the gearing. I wasn't impressed by the ls3 Camaros i have drove. To me my ls2 V had more get up and go.

I was familiar with the V gearing, but not sure on what the Camaro was.

LOL Maybe. I could have swore I heard him say 'to the wheels'. He seemed like a cool dude, not a d-bag... so not sure why he'd lie. Maybe he was just confused or told that.

Of all the good runs various V's have had.... we're still waiting on a good LS2 vs. LS6 run! mod for mod or stock for stock ideally...

The last time you guys mentioned that in the V section, someone said he'd be down for runs in August. I'm gonna hit him up and see whats up. Definitely would be good to see a 2v6 with same type of mods.
