Hello all,
I bought this engine for my dad and he has decided to stay with an Oldsmobile engine for his old musclecar.
This is a complete, running 2007 LY6 6.0L engine with the L92 heads and the tall truck rectangular intake and 87mm DBW throttle body attached.
Engine also includes a throttle pedal, E38 computer and a wiring harness for a 2010 LY6 that has one little section cut off that I am not sure what it goes to... Maybe a chassis harness piece that can be eliminated anyways.
This engine does have the good VVT, but not the bad AFM system...
For those who don't know, the VVT system helps mileage and torque by advancing the cam, and makes more HP at high RPM by retarding the cam.
This engine is a mere cam and valve springs away from 470-500 HP .
Engine had good compression and ran good when pulled.
I pulled the exhaust manifolds and found a few stripped exhaust manifold bolt holes, so these stripped holes were properly repaired with a good Helicoil of the proper thread size and pitch.
All of the holes on the block have been thread-chased and will make the engine a breeze and a joy to install for the new owner.
The engine has been "pickled" with marvel mystery oil in the cylinders.
the engine has about 149,000 miles on it
