How difficult to go 6-speed to 4L60E
I am considering converting to an auto, I drive my car quite a bit on the street and want a 4-speed if I do switch. Is it even worth it to swap to a 4L60E, or just go straight for a TH400 and add overdrive? THe car wont see that much track time, because there arent any tracks within 100 miles. I would go with ~4000 stall, a shift kit, and a tranny cooler. Thanks for the input. I searched but didnt come up with anything specific.

its a whole lot easier than going from a auto to a manual! lol that shouldnt be very hard at all, but costly. you are gonna have to get your computer reprogrammed for a auto and then you will have to do quite a bit of other stuff. you will have your work cut out for you that is for sure!

Keep the 6spd, or you will miss it big time driving on the street, Save for the clucth and Updated Hyd. and you will be good to go .

after driving my wifes crappy 240sx
i want a t56 in the t/a
before driving manual,
i never realized how sloppy and inefficient my 4000 verter is.
yeah, its fast when i roll the throttle from a stop,
but i cant even launch WOT on the streets!
screw the track,
its a daily driver.
id keep it a manual,
and just reel 'em all in and pass

I did it in my 94 Z, pretty good bit of wiring to be done if you go 4L60E, I stripped a transmission harness all the way to the computer out of donor car and installed it in mine, you must have a factory manual to install the pins correctly, but you have to wire in the reverse lights and brake switch to make the converter unlock under braking and the cruise control to work. I also cut the trans tunnel in the donor car to fit over my six speed hole in the floor and sealed/riveted it in. I bought the bad boy 4l60E from Cmotorsports, sitting on my floor.
