Default lq9 with 243 heads
Hey is anybody running a combo like this i was wondering will it be alrite for pump gas i dont plan on milling the heads just valve job and port work

You will basically be building a iron block LS2 (which is what I have). Since GM built them as factory motors, you can feel pretty good about that combo. Which cam are you planning to run?

I have the lq4 with 799 heads same as 243.. times in sig. I run 93 fuel

Running this exact combo at the moment with a carb setup. Rebuilt lq9, new 100% stock 243's, and the ASA cam in my 240. No probs using 93.

which cam yall think will be good for a 3800 lb car plan on putting 150 shot on it

I have some ported 243s on my lq4 with a cam very similar to the torquer v2. You wont be dissapointed.

It has monster low to mid power car ran 11.14 with 3.73s, it ran 11.70s with the stock 317 heads.

Its basicly the same as the torquer 2, and its at 110 lsa. I was running an 825 carb.

you should be fine at 11.0:1 compression. i'm running mine at 11.7-8ish for 93 pump.
