Default Tire size questions

I have a 95 z28 3/4 inch drop in the front stock height in the rear.
I had got some c6 wheels the were 17 up front and 18 in the back it was 275/40 all the way around. I ended up selling them wheels because the car never drove good with them on I couldn't figure out why I even bought different tires for the front . and it still was all over the road I could feel everygrooove and bump in the road making it very hard to drive . I sold them to a guy who put them on a c4 and he said they drive good . on his car. so Im back to my stock wheels and tires 235/55/16 and the car drives great straight and all. Im thinking that the tires were to wide up front. Could this be true??

all that being said I just came across a deal I could not pass up and bought new ones. so heres my questions. the new wheels are 18x9front 19x10.5 in the rear . what size tire should I use? Id like to stay away from 275 up front. I know there wide rims whats the narrowest tire I could use up front on them rims Im not into that stretching look that ppl do I just want the car to drive easy tho like it does with stocks.

as for the rears Im thinking 285 35 19 any input please thanks

Having a wide tire on the front will make the car follow cracks. Older tires will typically be worse, and some brands are just naturally worse than others.

If you want to stay away from a 275 up front, my suggestion would be:

265/35/18 front
295/30/19 rear

Those will fit on the wheels fine, but they will be stretched. A 255 is about as narrow as I would go personally.

265/35 in the front and 305/30/19 all the way in the rear. buy a good tire and make sure you get it aligned. Your car might have a bit of toe out causing it to pull all over. try 1/16" combined "toe in"

I went with 285/35/19 in the rears and they are rubbing inside the wheel well by the shock and springs seems maybe a few smacks will help Im not big on spacers
