what would be the best upgrade head for a 5.3 ???

Default what would be the best upgrade head for a 5.3 ???

I would like to mill them down .30 where my 706's r now...so my cr will b 10.1-10.2..

243 or 799's milled .050 with a small as possible hole .040 thick cometic head gasket.

I would check PTV after doing so however I doubt you would have problems with a mild cam.

still gotta check ptv, if mill the heads and use thinner gaskets. but yes.
the 243/799 milled would prolly be the best option for a stock head. unless you get a set of ported 4.8/5.3 heads that flows better than 243/799

check out trick flow they make a set of heads for the 5.3. I don't know the specs on them but its worth checking into

If you are going after market TEA and TSP both sell heads for a 5.3. TSP will even mill to your specs

I've heard good things about the PRC stage 2.5 5.3L heads that TSP offers. I'm currently looking into a set of the PRC stage 2.5 LS6 heads. Good price too, 1300 maybe 1400 I believe for the 5.3's
