Default First pass in the 5's...woohoo

Windmill and I went to Huntsville Dragway yesterday for one more chance at a 5 second slip before the season is over. Finally reached my goal of a 1/8 mile pass in the 5's. The air was great and the track was great.

I'm beyond pleased with this car. If you'd told me years ago I'd have a car that would run like this, especially for what I have in it, I would've laughed.

I appreciate it. It's been a LONG time coming lol.

The air was great yesterday. I wanted it on a 100 shot so bad I couldn't stand it and went 6.04 and 6.03 on the 53 jet, but just wasn't comfortable leaning on it anymore.

So I put the 150 jets it, -9 plug and only ran 20 degrees timing to get the 5.98.

I think it has at least some 5.80's in it with the looks of the plug, it was a little fat lol

Wow. That is a very cold plug and that fuel ring a really fat. How much compression do you have? What heads? What nitrous and fuel jets?

Congrats man! I'm going to call it quits for the year, sold the Trans and I am going to get a built 4L80 with a brake, swap to 4.10s and probably some milled and ported 799s. Then I'll officially be trying to catch up! Lol

10.5:1
LS3

That pass was 63n/53f with 6# FP and 20 degrees timing.

It was a stab in the dark pass....AFR was 10.6:1 lol

That is a pretty good spread on the jets to start. Two questions:
What is you NA a/f ratio?
Why such a cold plug?
Most guys on a 150 shot with that compression ratio are running BR7s.

N/A is 13:1 AFR

I was trying to run a -7 plug and even pulling 10 degrees couldn't get a fuel ring with as high as 7# FP....

After talking with Monte Smith and Steve Johnson it turns out the plug was too hot and "cleaning" itself off. I went to a -8 plug and instant fuel ring. I was able to lean on it and every thing look good. I picked the car up almost 3/10 by going to the colder plug.

I'm now a firm believer in "every motor is different"

The tune up with the 63 jet was just a guess and its obviously fat. I think with some more tuning the car will get faster

That is great information. Thank you for sharing that. 3 tenths is huge. There were no other changes?

Not to confuse. Just changing plugs did not yield a .3 gain. The plug change showed the fuel ring better on the plug which allowed me to tune that .3 out of her

Man I have plotted and plotted. I cant see it in vid, but I am listening. What would you recommend? Raising front? lowering front? Lower or raising rear? I can do about anything. My antisquat was a little more than Kevin Slaby wanted, but not much. My IC was a little longer too, but I had it all close. Dont mean to hi jack his thread, you can pm me, or post it in my thread.
