I agree, I mean compared to a new V it is cheaper, but at 50k its still a bit. I am happy to see another v8 rwd car out though...

i complain about the price, but it is not terrible... it starts at 43k and is a minimal options car, since it comes with a lot, they just took out the option to have a lower end model. It seems like they could have made a nicely equipped car start at the mid 30s though, and allowed it to become optioned up.
I guess it is sad/hard to believe how little 30k buys you in a new car anymore, but that is inflation for you.

Although I just don't see people buying a domestic , full size rwd v8 sedan at that $47k. I hope it's wildly successful during its run.

People buy cars that they feel is worth the money to them. everything i've read has said this car is built at a high level and is worth more than the money Gm asks for it. I dont see diehard 4th gen camaro owners buying one, but people who might be looking at a infiniti/audi/bmw/etc might give it a look and thats prob what gm is hoping for.

I've been shopping for cars lately in the 50-60k range and the weak *** **** the luxury imports try to pass off on you is laughable. I would have been all over the SS if mybwife didn't think it looked like a Camry, which by the way-- what the **** GM, did all your designers jump ship lately?

They're only going to be offering these for a year or two. This is basically overflow stock from the Aussie's contract to build their model. There is a contract to build X amount of cars and there are only so many projected to be sold in Australia. The rest are being given a slight face lift, a left hand drive conversion, and being sold as niche vehicles in the states. Hell, they didn't even bother getting creative with the name. That's how short of a lifespan I see with these cars.
Would I love to own one? Hell yes!
The Aussie's model can be optioned up to an LSA style motor. These things will be a modder's paradise.

I have a feeling this is going to be a very attractive car in person. Every review I've read has given it glowing reviews for how it drives and handles. I don't think there's anything wrong with the fact it's a holden car. They make some cool stuff. It'll probably be had for the low 40's which will blow away any competition.

Two guys local to me picked these up from Hendrick in Cary and had them at todays C&C. It is a good looking car from the front, but the back leaves something to be desired IMO. It has some nice things, but some stuff that screams "still a G8 GT". The dash is really clean and few buttons keeps it from being cluttered up. Performance wise, it should be coming quickly for that platform. RotoFab supposedly has already bought one to develop their products on.

I unknowingly walked right past a black SS at Bayside Chevrolet in SoMD. They're very unforgettable in the flesh. The no manual option is very sad for enthusiasts, but it is from folks who want $75k for the new Z/28.
