Default Did some TnT at RPR last night...

Did a little T&T last night. Air was great (-617'), track was slick as baby snot... I kept blowing the tires off pass after pass, no matter how easy I launched. Finally I got one full pass it didn't spin on, although it was a VERY soft launch as you'll see here..

This was in full street trim, just trying to test the new converter. I had way better air this time but combined with that and the new converter, it seems to have picked up 5 mph... Although with the soft 1.55 60' compared to last trip out 1.35 60', the mph may be a tad inflated.... I guess we'll see next weekend at the rental.. The converter is still way loose, tightens up nicely after the 1/4 traps though..LOL... I may pull it back out and send it in for tightening after the next week's rental. I still think it is eating up too much power down the track... Notice the shift light(6700) on before the 1000' mark in high gear...LOL

This was street trim, still running thru the air filter, pump gas, street tune, 15* timing...

Next week at the Texas Invitational rental, it will be on kill... Maybe see 152 or more if I get some more good air and a track that hooks.

The battle continues...

What was the red warning light flashing on the a-pillar near the end of the run?

Car sounds good going down the track. Nice ET.

That red warning light would be the shift light...LOL... Its set at 6600 and its nuts were hanging out by the 1000' mark... Went through around 6900... Converter is still too loose really... It tightens up nicely after 150 mph though.... Just too late then..

After the rental on the 26th, I MAY pull the converter out for the 3rd time and have it tightened a bit... Still on the fence.

I have about another 60-70hp I can put in it (velocity stack, Q16, timing) and see if it picks up any more mph or just drives through the converter more...

Main problem right now is traction though. Hopefully we will have better prep next sunday. The car normally goes 1.35 60's.... Last night 1.55....

Car is a beast. Can I ask how you get by with only a roll bar at RPR?

MAGIC!

No seriously, last night they just stuck their head in and asked if I had a roll cage and I said yes, then she asked if I had a license and I said no.... They said slow it down or work on license passes... I just headed home.

On private rentals, they don't mess with you about safety BS..

Congrats on the new PB. Was cool talking to you out there Friday night and seeing your car.

Was curious if there are any more openings for the rental? I sure would like to try and get my 10.90 motor pass and then see how close I can come to a 9.90 on the 150 shot. Weather forecast shows to be nice for the weekend after Friday.

. Nice talking with you as well.. The rental was only open for 30 cars and has been booked solid for a month. However there may be some "no shows" and maybe you could get in as a stand by. Not sure.. Go to www.texasspeedsyndicate.com and contact Amar and see what he says about openings.

Weather is questionable for fri/sat, Sunday is looking good though.. If it is nice Friday night, I'll be at the Lowes show. We'll see ya up there.

Thanks Bill! One of my goals was 150 mph on pump gas thru the air filter...so it did that.. I'd like to see 152-153mph on kill... Hoping for good air Sunday.

Same here, as long as it's decent and my new wires get here I will be up there... and another raccoon doesn't get into a transformer here.. that made a mess here for the last few days.
