Default To AC or not to AC

ok decision time. I am putting a 10pt cage in my Mustang. Do I try to keep my heater and a/c on my mustang and rebuild the a/c box and reinstall it? This car will be a heavyweight, for a fox body, if i do. it will weigh upwards of 3400 lbs. Car is a street car and currently has power steering and power brakes

Should I delete my a/c box completely and try to save as much weight as possible?

OR

Should I rebuild it and stay comfortable?

Depends... You live in Texas you know how hot it gets even with the windows down.. If its a race car you're only going to drive every now and then get rid of it.. if you plan on driving it weekly Id def keep it.

This. I took the AC off my Jeep thinking I never have the top on anyway. I regret it all the time and plan to put it back on at some point.

AC for sure.. Its hot as **** down here during the summer. You can go up one jet size on the spray and make up for the 80lbs worth of AC... And be comfortable year round..

I have ice cold AC in both of my Vettes and love driving them in the summer.

Texas is too HOT and Humid for no A/C. Alot more comfortable for sure ,,,just depends on if you don't mind sweating to the seats or not when you cruise the car.

If you drive the car a lot on the street I would say keep the A/C. Texas ain't exactly cold so I think you'll be better off. If it was a track only car I would say delete that ****.

IMO, keep AC and delete PS, PB, etc. Take out all other sources of weight, and you can easily get her to 3100 with AC. I had one of my Mustangs in the past this same way.

Rear seat delete and a pair of Kirkeys will go a long way as well, and are actually fairly comfortable. I've DD many vehicles with them.

I have plenty of other rides with AC, so that's another reason since my stang is not my daily(although I have daily driven it). But the bastard has power brakes and power steering all day. Will never do the no power steering again. Just never noticed any gains at all. If it was a race car, I would not have power anything of course.

Last time it was out, race weight was 3260, then add 150ish pounds of monkey bars. Around 3400 lbs
