Default Painting Proform Valve covers and FAST Intake

I recently picked up a set of the new Proform aluminum valve covers for LS engines along with the coil relocation brackets. Although I haven't installed them on the car yet, they seem to be made very well! I went with the plain aluminum without the raised lettering because I knew beforehand that I wanted to paint them. Here's a picture.

Luckily, I sourced some cheap leftover paint from a local shop to paint with. All of the paint, primer, and activator were Dupont brand and I was using a Matco spray gun.

I know painting outside isn't ideal, but that is what I had to work with. For the record, I think these things turn out pretty well for an outside job in breezy weather. Hopefully I will be inside when I paint my intake. The color is a mixture between International Red and Viper Red, but I really love the result.

Final product...

I will update progress as it comes! I am a college student and classes just started, so I'll be a weekend warrior for a while.

Wow! It has been a while since I posted. I forgot I started this thread, so I guess here is the final product.

Painted FAST 90 with Holley Fuel rails, Proform Valve covers and coil relocation. I cleaned up the stock coil wiring harness so it tucks away under the coils. I also painted my coils and purchased MSD plug wires. A few other things had to be relocated or modified. If you have any questions, just ask.

I painted the raised lettering black, but I haven't taken pictures of that yet.

The next couple of things on my list is to paint the MAF sensor, get a smooth intake bellow, and get rid (or paint) that ugly yellow dip stick.

Very nice! I have the same VC's and yet to have installed them. Were you able to use a factory length plug wire or did you use truck length?

You have to use truck length wires. I don't think MSD makes black truck length wires. So I ordered a set of firecores from customwiresets.

To the OP, I REALLY like how you hid the wire harness. Any tips on how to do that?

Very nice work!
How did you prep the FAST intake. Just sanding? Did it require primer also?

That's beauty. I just picked up a SOM. I plan on painting the lid and intake SOM. Also doing the wire mod. My engine bay is super clean because it only has 28 k miles on it so might as well start shining some things up. What did those covers and relocation kit run you? And those covers obviously fit stock applications correct? I been out of the game for 3 years since I sold my last SS and now I'm back!
