help with 03 tahoe
Long story short she got in our 03 tahoe yesterday to leave work and she said when she started it the car honked. My experience with this is a low battery since it would honk if I had to jump it off in the past. I've noticed the volt gauge always at 12 and never moves at all went out to start it this morning and it would start then immediately stall no matter how long I tried that's what it would do with no reaction to the throttle to try and keep a idle. It has a new battery could this be the alternator not allowing it to run? I figured if it started the battery would completely drain then die but stay on till then.

No and the car has a lack of voltage with the key on the gauges won't move at all and the door locks won't work. But it has enough juice to turn over which to me seems weird.

Well a little update. She called around 4 when I was on the way home and said it started and will stay running. I replaced the alt just for safety measure plus I'm not too sure the mileage on the old one. So now it basically narrows down to the cold weather this morning that could be the only reason why it would've been worse is the single digit temps in the am the past two days. So what would make it start and immediately stall due to cold weather? Egr?

Could be the ignition switch going out. Google some videos of bad ignition switches on similar trucks/suburbans and see if it matches what you're experiencing. Hopefully it's not that, because the ignition switch for these vehicles isn't cheap.
Something else to consider, do you have an aftermarket alarm on it?
