Ok so when I upgrade my h/c/I I will need to do gears now I don't have the money to just order a new one from strange or moser and was going to just install 4:10s into my 10 bolt I have heard that 4:11s may be better can anyone post up a link to something explaining what's better and why and the advantages of each

I dident think they offered 4.11. 4.10s will work but if you got a sticky tire/drag radial on your car its not gonna last. I broke 2 sets of 3.73 and now something else is broke within the last 6 months. Im not even gonna open it up this times its gonna sit until my new strange rear shows up. If you have 3.42s that's what id leave in it until your ready to upgrade. Don't waist money like myself and others have done. If your dead set on changing gears I wouldent go much steeper than a 3.73. After 3.73 it seems the rears just are not reliable at all if your gonna be beating on it.

If your car is a M6 putting 4.10s in the 10 bolt is a waste of money. I know because I did it and have a 4.10 10 bolt laying in the garage with nice and quiet gears with a worn out posi unit. You'll have less traction and won't be able to put DRs or a good bias ply tire on it for the track for fear of blowing up the rear. All the HP you will add with the h/c/i won't do you any good if you can't hook it up. Why not build the car the strong way from the rear forward, then you'll have no worries.
As to your question, when you order 4.10s you get 10/41 gears, sometimes I've heard of a couple people getting 4.11s 9/37 gears as a substitute for 4.10s. I don't think anyone actually sells the 9/37 gears even though they advertise them as 4.11s. They're all 4.10s when dealing with the 7.5/7.625 10 bolt.

I think the 4.10 is just about right for a M6 street car. Unless you are playing John Force with slicks or something it will work real good.
