Default Complete C6 Vette front brake kit with cooling ducts and spindles.

***NO LONGER FOR SALE***

Shipping will be harsh on this, be prepared.

I am moving to a Wilwood setup, this kit is AMAZING with the right race pad on them, I will include the pads I have left that have some life left. Including my ceramic street pads(no dust).

Will also include some track rotors you can run on the street to get it up and running. EDIT** will include 2 NEW Raybestos rotors in the box.

This is a C6(not C5) brake conversion for the 93-02 Fbody. Fits under 17 inch factory wheels, some aftermarket may not fit(I know a Fikse FM10 will not fit without a spacer)

Blaine fabrication sheet metal cooling ducts, new they were $275

Doug Rippie Motorsports stainless steel caliper pistons, new they were $185

Bob Bishop billet mounting bracket, new they were $170

Kore3 C6 front calipers with abutment brackets, new they were $380

Kore3 stainless brake lines, new they were $69

2 new Raybestos Rotors $100

Cut/trimmed spindles for this setup, great for the LT1 guys as it makes it a simple bolt on for you.

Shipping as you could imagine would be high on these parts.....very heavy.

Will not separate this kit except for the spindles.

I am in Mobile Alabama for pickup or if you wanted to ship.

$700 for the kit, all the parts were $1180. I am including spindles, a set of rotors, street pads and 3 sets of race pads that have some life in them.

Email is

speedadikk(@)yahoo dawt com.

Mods, this is posted here because these are the only guys who would want this kit.

Here is a vid of the car on R comp tires with Raybestos ST47 pads on front ST43 on rear. My car has 385 rwhp and weighs 3800lbs.

I'm pretty much married to Wilwood, or I'd jump on this (wouldn't need the spindles though). I've got a good buddy on LS1 tech as well who has gone the C5 route on his 2nd gen front brakes, but hasn't gotten anything beyond the conversion hubs yet. I'll point him this way when I see him next.

Are you ditching the Wilwoods to go back to this setup or just hanging onto this for a while?

On the fence. I will back up to a more rotor friendly pad and try again in September.

Will also put screens over my plenum intakes.

If it doesn't work out I will put the C6 kit back on the car. But I will hold onto it in the mean time.

I want to give the Wilwoods a fair shake then decide.

What issues besides cracking the rotors are you having with the wilwood kit? I liked your idea on FRRAX of modifying the kit to use c6 rotors. What's involved in that?

Nothing other than rotor life.

I have contacted Coleman Racing and they can make rotors for around $140 each. I will also go back to Carbotech pads. I killed one rotor, but that was partially my fault. I spun the car and grass went up in that sides plenum duct and hurt that rotors ability to cool, it cracked to the edge. BUT the other side is warped...so I dunno. Gonna try a few things before I give up.

New rotors.
Go back to Carbotech pads
Put screens over the plenum ducts.

Then re evaluate.

Then possibly buy new brackets and put the 14 inch rotor on the car with a small spacer to clear 17 inch wheels.

The idea I had is a no go. The LG Motorsports Gstop kit's bracket to mount the caliper bolts up the the inside of the knuckle, the Trackbracket only simulates the outside of the Vette knuckle. The Gstop kit is for a Wilwood SL6 caliper and a stock Vette rotor under a 17 inch wheel, I was going to stack the brackets to try and make it work. Would take a custom bracket.

Damn I hoped there was a way to use c6 rotors. Did Coleman give you a part number for replacement rotors. Please share if they did. I need to replace the rotors on my car. The person I bought the kit from had ordered it with the drilled rotors, and I wouldn't feel safe on track with them. The c6 would be nice for cost, but I could deal with $140 rather than 200+.

Is it a completely different Blaine Fabrication duct kit for LS1 brakes, your C6 setup, and now the Wilwoods or do any of the duct kits work for more than one of those options?

I'm 99% sure Alan's kits are built specific for each combo. Comparing a stock rotor to a 2 piece the hat area where his plenums attach are very different.

What kit is on the car?

Coleman only asks for dimesions, you can get them off the Wilwood site.

Thickness, diameter and bolt mounting circle.

I did some research the last few days.

This 13.06 rotor will work with the 140-7190 kit I have. WHY it's not already in that kit....who knows.

160-8165 and 160-8166 slotted

or

160-12786 and 16012787 plain.

I bought the plain ones at $159 each, this is from a buddy if interested I will PM you his contact.

Yes sorry I left that part out. I was asking in the off chance you ran plenum ducts back when you had LS1 brakes and if I could buy them in case you did? I am going to stick with my LS1 brakes for now (w/ a pad upgrade, SS lines, quality fluid, and quality blanks) as I build seat time. I figured that others have probably ran ducts on LS1 brakes and are now running upgraded front brakes so I am just looking for a used F body LS1 duct plenum set.
