Default WIX oil filter the best?

Is the WIX 51069R Engine Oil Filter the best made and best quality oil filter for a 96 Camaro z28? After some research I believe this may be the best filter out there, I would like to hear some other opinions!

Other filters I would consider are:

K&N

Napa Gold

Some people swear by the Mobil 1 and other say it is a total rip off. The Wix racing filter seems to have all of the best features inside of it.

Yeah wix makes napa gold filters. I always go with wix on both my cars. I wouldn't go so far as to say they are the BEST, I don't know enough to say either-or. But they're well priced (I think about half of M1 or K&N filters) and there's plenty of info in bobistheoilguy proving that they're a well made, quality filter.

If your local NAPA does filter sales you can get a 1069 (napa gold) for about $3.

I think the napa gold is the regular WIX 51069, I am talking about the WIX 51069R which is the racing version of the 51069, it is twice the price of the regular wix51069 and was great internals, it says RACING on the outer filter.

You are correct. I was thinking about the wrong filter.

The Napa 1069 is a WIX 51069

Napa sells the WIX 51069R under the NAPA gold line of filters, but it still says WIX on it.

The Wix R filters do offer more flow and you might see more oil pressure, but the filter media is usually not as fine as the regular filter (hence their warning that the R filters are for racing only and may void manufacturer's warranty if used on a street car).

So just the regular wix filter is better for a street driven Camaro than the racing version of the wix filter?

I guess it depends on what is more important to you.
