Default Big red stuck open?

Anyone know a good way to test this? I dont have a boost gauge but on my datalogs it doesnt appear to be making any boost. Tuner says he thinks the bypass is stuck open? Ive checked the piping/couplers, I used Tbolt clamps so I ruled that out right away. This is on a D1SC car

Can you visually see it? It should be closed with the motor off. So have some one look at it, then start the car and see if it opens. Revving the motor should cause it to momentarily close, then reopen.

Yeah its in a easy to see spot. Im at work so I couldnt rev it that high but. It was closed when I checked before starting. Opened when on and stayed open when I shut the car off? Ill rev it later to check.

Unhook the vacuum source to it and it should stay closed. Make a pull with it like this and see if it makes boost.

Just be cautious doing this, because there will be no release for any boost once you close the throttle, so keep that in mind. Small incremental rpm pulls would be advised and not a wot to redline pull.

A couple of small pulls won't hurt anything.

You can also hook up a vacuum gauge to it to see if it is opening and closing. Bob

Where is the source of vacuum/boost for the BOV? Sounds like to me it may possibly be sourced behind some kind of check valve that is holding a vacuum and the BOV never sees the boost? The check bleeds off while the car sets, as soon as it cranks and gets vacuum back on it, it stays open while the car is running.

I dunno, just throwing that out there...
