Default Spectre cold air intake?

I saw this CAI from spectre, i'm interested because it's pretty cheap compared to the k&n or the volant. Is this a good product? Thanks

What would you swap it out with?

Research shows that CAIs on this car make more noise, not more horsepower.

I've read that it helps throttle response, mpg's etc.. Quite a few positive reviews from current owners...idk

I think there is some dyno results that show its a fairly empty investment. Check the dieing cadillac owners forum for more info....

I have a volant with a blackbear tune and I feel like it made a pretty big difference. Def rips at full throttle

I compared my car with a K&N intake to another stock intake car on the same dyno and it was a solid 8-10rwhp more with the K&N. I would venture to say its the tube itself that is the key, not the airbox.

Having said that, I would retain the factory airbox and make my own tube for like $50. Heatsoak with the K&N was horrendous.

The K&N filter flows a lot more also. But it also doesn't filter as well as the stock filter. Trade offs... Performance or longevity, rarely do the two coincide.

My personal research has led me to wanting to make an intake tube, but a new filter for the air box, Swiss cheese mod, then improve the factory air duct that pulls air from the grill for best results

7-9 RWHP on most V2's, not sure of V1's.

There is a "trash can" mod that was popular at one time and proved to be at least as affective as any aftermarket cai for about 10 bucks.

I should clarify...the notch is not for the maf...its for a bracket clearance. Just poor engineering.

Agreed. I used a livescanner when I did my custom tubing with a K&N cone and with the stock airbox, and found the IATs to be higher with the cone filter... even with the custom heat shield that sealed at the top of the hood..

This is what I have. Paid roughly $50 to get all the parts, and put it together.
