99 Transam with D1sc Cam Questian
I'm thinking of putting the Texas speed 224 cam with 112 LSA in my motor. Motor is stock right now with bolt ons, fast intake, Dynomax headers. I really just want it to sound better. With what I have now I am satisfied with the power, but not the sound. Just looking for a more aggressive sound at idle.
Will this cam hurt anything?

To the OP, take a look at the link here. http://shop.brutespeed.com/Brute-Spe...d-Camshaft.htm
There is a sound clip at this link of how this cam sounds. Bob

Does the Camaro that is on the link have stock heads? Catalytic converters? Noticed check engine light on. Did this have anything to do with a cam install?
That definitely sounds nice! Say good bye to my sleeper! Lol
How much is the cam, springs, chain, push rods, balancer bolt and gaskets? Do you offer this in a kit? Also, is it recommended to degree the cam, or is it normally right on the mark?
Sorry so many questions.

In my cam link I do offer the timing chain, springs and pushrods. I don't sell the balancer bolt and associated gaskets.
It is always recommended to degree in any camshaft, although most people just install it using the dots. Thanks. Bob

My son got back from over there last Summer, he doesn't miss the smell of burning garbage. Bob

FWIW, I was inquiring about that particular cam because of the simple fact if I decide to remove the charger, it would still work decent. Also, didn't want to do springs now. But, I do really like that cam! So.... It sounds like I may have to go for it.

Most people who put this cam in prior to adding forced induction usually see a 60 rwhp increase over a stock cam. I'm going to be using this same cam in my tube chassis Vega that I recently bought. Bob
