Default 86 turbo 5.3 trans am vs supercharged C6 vette

This is my first run with the car since adding the methanol injection, and I am pretty happy with how it's responding! I still don't have it tuned 100% and it was a bit rich for these runs (10.6ish under WOT), but it most definitely picked up power which I'm happy about. Once I have the tune down pat, I'll have to have a rematch with the vette.

Details:

1986 TA: turbo 5.3 @ 11 PSI, 76mm turbo, LS6 cam, LS6 intake, 317 heads, 3350 lbs without driver

Made 540 rwhp before the methanol on a dynojet. Estimating I'm around 570 now.

C6 vette: LS2, vortech supercharger at 10 PSI, longtubes, estimated 3300 lbs without driver

Made 550 rwhp on a mustang dyno.

2nd gear start in both runs at 45 mph. Lifted around 145 or so. I had a much better break boost in the 1st run but my 3-4 shift was a bit sloppy lol...first run of the season problems.

Two well matched cars! Tires on the C6 are working nicely. Looking forward to the rematch.

And from what jay is telling me... Juice wants to play too.

Thanks guys! Evan, I'm always down to run. Shouldn't have anything really planned next weekend, weather permitting. Hopefully I have the tune nice and dialed in by then.

Great runs! Glad I ran into you guys. Of course my supercharger belt decided to shred into 1000 pieces mid-race with that vette. I quickly pulled off to check things out and found it completely gone. This same belt runs my alternator... somehow I made it 20 mins home on the battery only. I should be out next weekend again if the weather is nice.

That Vette ate my lunch today.
I had 2 issues to sort out, one is fixed.
My car has shorter gearing now and I never changed the MPH of the shift, only the RPM... PCM needs to see both to execute the shift.

Long story short, my 3800 wound out to almost 7400rpm against the vette before banging the limiter and then shifting. I can't believe I didn't hurt anything. Shifting issue is all taken care of now.

The other problem is that I've hit the ceiling on my fuel pump. I was running 13psi today and fuel pressure was dropping like a rock from ~65psi into the 30s... again I can't believe I didn't hurt anything.

e85 is a hell of a drug.

With all of that said.. even with those issues sorted, that Vette has my number. I need more boost to play with him.

Sounds good, I don't think I'll be much of a match for your vette but I'm always down for some fun runs.

Thought you make similar power?
Or maybe I'm mixing it up with another car
