Well...after finally getting into Autocross I quickly learned that my stock 95 Camaro seats are horrible...like many stock seats. I'm starting my search for a seat so I can actually focus on driving the car and not trying to steer and hold myself in the car lol.

The car is a DD that will see 2hr one way trips occasionally. I live 1 mile from work, and all other driving is around town etc. I never take anyone in my back seat other than letting my dog back there which I can get him in through the passenger side or via the back hatch.

I'm not die hard autocross but try to make as many events as I can. What make/model seats are you guys running UNDER $400. They can include fixed back OR reclining seats. Whatever I get will most likely NOT have a slider either.

I have been eyeballing numerous seats from Corbeau and Sparco. I have only sat in ONE fixed back race seat so the ability to sit in a seat that I am looking into seems to be impossible lol.

Stock SRT4 front seats. 400 for the pair. Sliders and reclining. Lightweight. They were designed with autocross in mind. The material is very grippy and the bolsters hold you in without being uncomfortable.

the 6LE seats are pretty sweet, never sat in one myself but seem like they would work awesome and i think their $500 for a pair

They do look comfy and may work but I don't need 2. On top of that I'm not really wanting leather either. I'd rather cloth to reduce the tendency to slide on leather. Plus a seat like a Corbeau Forza weighs in at 18lbs while the 6LE comes in at 36lbs.

I had the Sparco R100 in my car...i thought it was a surprisingly comfortable seat and light for a recliner, but it was cheaply made. originally i had a cloth interior in the camaro so with all the bracketery and what not, there were no weight savings. I broke one of the bolsters on the base while on track. i was not impressed...and i'm not a big guy by any means...i stand a towering 5'8" and a hefty 159.8 lbs.

oh one more thing...i found that the side bolsters on the R100 got in the way when shifting from 1-2 or 3-4. that may be the case for most if not all reclining sport buckets...

I have sparco spirits. I like them alot. I drove in them from MA to DC.

keep in mind, seats are only part of the equation. Any decent seat will pretty much force you to buy 4 or 5 point harnesses. If you want to adjust your seat forward/backward for different height drivers, then you'll need double-locking sliding seat pedestals (where both rails have teeth that lock them into position). My $350 Corbeaus ended up at $1250 by the time I was done.

I plan to run a simple 4 pt using the stock OEM seat belt mounting point and the rear seat mounting point and maybe not even running a harness bar.

I'm also going to make my own mounting bracket since no one will be driving the car other than me. So I have no need for a slider. I never move/recline my seat as it is now.

In love with my new Recaro Profi SPG. Has transformed my connection with the car. Sat in a number of steel frame seats at the track and while they would do the job there really is no comparison to a fiberglass fixed back.

Thanks. I'm happy with it for the money. Next step is to possibly fab a harness bar and really take advantage of the seat. I have an event this Sunday so I'm looking forward to testing the seat, new alignment after slotting k member and my first set of race slicks!

Couldn't beat 4 SS wheels (in amazing shape) with V710's all for $275.
