Question LS1 Intake VS Truck Intake on Turbo S475 LQ4 6.0??

Hey guys, I need to buy bigger injectors for my turbo setup (details in sig). I am currently a stock LS1 intake/rails, but have a stock truck intake/rails in my storage.

Since I have to buy injectors anyway, would there be real HP gain by swapping to a stock truck intake? I like the car intake for looks, but if there is a big advantage to the truck intake, thats what I will go with.

I shift at 6300 if that matters....

Thx guys!!

You could if sent a PM for that dude....

I won't be selling the LS1 stuff regardless, my hood clearance limited Monza needs a LS1 intake on its 5.3 in the Fall/Winter project.

Anyone else?

In that situation I think the only real difference will be on your Tq curve. You will pick up alot on the bottom side of your current Tq curve. The hp differences would minimal on a FI setup.

I ran an LS1 on my 6.0 S480 combo. It worked well, although I swapped to something less restrictive. I made 852 RWHP at 6400 with the LS1 at 17 psi average boost.

we made right at 1000 on a 6.0 with early truck intake, 317 heads @25psi on E85, new combo using late model truck intake & square port heads...have not run as of yet...should be about 200 more

Would the LS6 manifold have any benefit over the LS1 for boost? Or would the gains be minimal? I could free up a decent amount in my budget if I sold my ls6 and picked up a ls1 for cheap

I ended up swapping to the truck intake along with some FAST 87 lb injectors. Picked up a lot of torque under the curve, especially when not in boost.

Any back to back dyno results ?

It would be very interesting to see the differences.

the truck intakes with their larger plenums and straighter runners do look like quite a good option

Supposedly the newer 5.3 truck intakes are the same as the TBSS intakes. The TBSS intakes supposedly show 15-20whp over the original truck intakes everywhere. There are some posts on PT showing results. http://www.performancetrucks.net/for...inally-455536/

That also had a different TB so not sure how much that affected the results.
