Disclosure - parts have less then 300 miles on them except the converter (which has less than 20 miles since restall). Trans would not hold in 3rd gear on the bottle and overheated the fluid. Fluid was still redish but smelled burnt. Trans worked fine when removed I have no reason to believe anything was damaged beyond the trans overheating. Obviously don't put the converter in your brand new $4000 built trans - it's priced fairly so you can get it cleaned and/or restalled.
Here is what the trans pan looked like:
$550 PTC - 10 SS LS1 converter: Billet, 21 blade stator, straight fin angle. N/A 4500rpm N20 5000rpm stall on my combo - 10" single disk lock up Retails $795, Less than 20 miles since restall.
