Default My car won't go past 6000RPMs, any ideas?

I need help here. My car is tuned with a Predator to 6800RPMs by Johan at Diablosport. However when I WOT, or Part throttle, the car pulls hard up to 6000RPMs my car hits the rev limiter or possibly tops out. The car rev limiter was working before I installed an LS6 intake, SVO 30# injectors, and Patriot LS6 Style heads (replaced PP 5.3 heads). After these mods, I installed a new tune file that tuned the injectors and the car runs great, except the rev limiter isn't working right. The predator guy doesn't see any reason why the car is locking down at 6000RPMs. Any ideas? .

I verified it wasn't because of the slow TACH that my readings were off, and I used my shiftlight set at 6100RPMs to be sure.

Thanks

I hate to state the obvious but it's simply incorrect programming if it's hitting the limiter that early. There's not much else it could be. Reprogram correctly.

Seems I've seen more than one person who tried
to set the rev limit way high with Predator and it
didn't "take". Does the Predator indicate that the
rev limiter values are set to 6800, and does the
real-time display indicate 6000 if you sit there and
idle-flog it onto the limiter? Try something in the
middle, like setting to 6400, and see if there is a
change. I have had occasional odd things happen,
like TM "usually" getting removed but not always.
Also, there are multiple rev limits in the "real" PCM
data file but the Predator indicates only a single
limit. It might be that when DiabloSport did the
tune, using their "real" software and a human
programmer, that some got fixed up and some
did not. Try using the Predator to adjust to
something in the middle like I said and see if you
can move it around, at least.

Jimmy, if I just go inot the settings to view the tunes REV LIMITER it says 6800RPMs all the way down. I am not sure if I can adjust this but I will try the 6400RPM setting and see what happens. I didn't think to use the Predator to view the RPMs, and will try that out also. Thanks for the replies, also others can chime in here if you have any other ideas.

well theres in gear and out of gear and vss fault rev rev limiters.

running those 30# at static would create a smoke screen (have a buddy follow you at night) that could feel like a rev limiter if a/f goes below 11:1 you will feel a hefty power lost due to misfires (blowing out spark).

you got a good a/f for sure?

Definently something to look for. What do you mean by static? Colonel I'm sure you are right... bad programming. A $500 dyno tune is sounding better everyday.
