Default TSP cam fouling plugs, increases idle ** Need help **

Ok guys I got a TSP 231/237 cam and springs installed in my stock 02 SS. We drilled the throtle body out last night before we started it. Last night it ran fine for about 30 minutes. This morning we put AutoTap on it and it shows that its has mis-fires on all the cylinders and that the Long term fuel trim on bank one is at 25 and bank 2 is at 9.4. We pulled the plugs and sure enough you could still see the gas on them. We swapped the plugs and now it seems that the car wont start. We checked all the O2 sensors and they all look good. We can smell the gas from the headers, but I think tap is showing that the computer is showing the car as lean. Any ideas would be great!!!!

Thanx alot!!

sounds like you need a tune, bad....other than that you might have a couple of loose plug wires or something if after you swapped plugs it all of a sudden wont start.

You need fuel adjustment in the PCM via LS1Edit or HPTuners.

Computer programming can clear that right up.

Although techincally, the fouling is a result of the cam install and things not being tuned accordingly, the title "TSP cam fouling plugs" isn't warranted. Get the setup tuned.

We offer mail order tunes if you don't have a local shop that can do a dyno tune Either way you definately want to double check everything, those Ltrims look strange...

i put in a 231/237 and had TSP tune the car for me, and she runs like a stallion, you definatly need to send the pcm to tsp and let them tune for their cam. You won't be dissappointed

I agree on the tune. I just had the 231/237 installed, and it has to be tuned. I don't know how some people report not having a tune on that cam, or saying the stock tune is okay.

First off no disrespect to the TSP cam, its an awsome product, when my car first started up it sounded freaking mean I wasnt knocking it just wanted to know if I was missing anything to cause the stock tune to run that way. I was just kind of funny that it ran ok for 30minutes and then next morning it fouling plugs. I am sending my PCM to MTI first thing in the morning. I have an appointment with them on friday after my buddy Kyle gets done with the dyno. Hopefully I should get my PCM back by wednesday, depends on fedex. Thanx guys for all the posts, tommy figured it was a tuning problem, I was just hoping it was something simplier.

Thanx again

The LTrims really look like a vacuum leak or a bad 02.
Best of luck.
