1998 Arctic SS hard-top w/ 25,600mi.
Hi all,
New to the forum, but not so new to the Gen-4th Camaro's. Thought I'd introduce myself and share some pictures of the 1998 SS hard-top I bought last weekend.
The car is rather unusual as in it was ordered without the "electrical package" meaning no fog-lights, power windows, cruise control, and came equipped with a basic am/fm cassette player. It's rather unsual to look inside the Gen4 Camaro's and see window cranks as well. Looking at the window sticker this car as built stickered at 18,560 and had a MSRP just over 20,100.
The real clincher for me on this car was that it was one of the few hard-top SS camaros and came equipped with the MN6 6-Speed transmission... and that after 16 years it only had just over 25K miles on the odometer. The paint on the car was also immaculate as well as the cloth upholsterey and trim. Anywho, check out the pictures of this time capsule from 1998 that I lucked into.

What a fantastic find! Car looks/sounds great, only thing I wouldn't want is the 6-speed. I wish mine was completely devoid of power options too; crank windows usually hold up much better than their power counterparts. And that color is one of my favorites.
Welcome to the site, and congratulations on such a cool find.

Well, I figured it was sort of an oddball combination, but not exactly sure how rare it is. The car has a build date of March '98, so I figured it was just one of the earlier production SS's for the first of the "re-styled" LS1 cars. The car certainly has alot in common with it's heritage... no frills, just crisp LS1 power. I do wish it had the fog-lights though, something about that just adds cool factor. The Monsoon CD-Player, Power Seats, Rear-window Defogger, etc. would have been nice too, but in a Camaro SS, not exactly what that driving experience is about.
The blue thing in the background? there's nothing in the background... certainly not a Grabber Blue mustang : ]

I just happened to come back to this thread and saw the Broadcast sheet posted above. Very cool, thanks for posting that. That's a great thing to get with the car.
Looks like your build date was 3/25/98, which is just two days after my '98 was built. They were almost assembly line brothers....haha. Mine is at 17k miles now, so yours has seen just a bit more action but is significantly more rare and looks every bit as nice.

No problem, I thought it was kind of neat to see how it was optioned... or lack there of lol.
Love the Z28 by the way, not sure how you managed to keep the miles down on it like that! My brother as an Arctic one with the Factory Chrome wheels... great memories riding in it to school with him lol. Still has it too, would be something if it had a build date close to this car!
