First off, let me say I know nothing about auto's, they are a total mystery to me.

While my car was at the shop for something unrelated I asked them to install a fast intake and TB for me. I picked up the car and noticed that it doesn't seem to want to downshift. I mean ride along at 35, floor it and the transmission never down shifts. So I popped the hood and it looks to me like the kickdown cable is on the wrong end of the cam on the TB. When at WOT the cable isn't pulled on at all, in fact it puts slack into it. I would think that the cable would hook to the other side so when at WOT the cam pulls on the cable enabling downshift.

That looks like a cruise control cable. 4L60Es don’t use a cable. Could be a TPS sensor problem.

Excellent diagnosis by Mr. Bond. The TPS is the signal to the PCM that you want a downshift. A typical scanner will show the TPS value; you can get a free scanner rental at many auto chain stores.

Awesome thanks! It's very possible that they mishandled and broke the tps when installing the TB.

That was one of the reasons that I suggested that. If the trans would down shift before the new intake and TB was installed most likely the TPS was broken when transferring it over to the new TB.

Id be curious as to how they got the intake to fit over the stock coolant crossover tube. Did they grind the bottom of the intake or just stick it on?
